Equipment Recertification & Refurbishment
Asset’s integrity involves numerous distinct checks and inspections. From the simplest of pressure tests to a full strip down and restoration to manufacturer’s original specifications, the level of requirement can vary greatly depending on the criticality and specificity of the design.
All aspects of asset integrity can be handled uniquely by Soul Energy. We undertake a level of pre‐inspection cleansing that is not seen within the oil and gas industry with our onsite corrosion coatings facility. The cleaning can be as simple as power or steam wash all the way through to a back to bare metal strip pending on the requirement. Once prepared for inspection all equipment is subject to a close visual inspection to ascertain if any underlying faults exist that would immediately halt the recertification. Moving on from the visual inspection various inspection techniques such as MPI/DPI are applied to catch potential failure sites before they progress to a fault.
In accordance with the manufacturer’s procedures damaged components are replaced with OEM spares and function tested once the equipment has gone through the various inspection phases.
A full body pressure test is performed to the manufacturer’s specification to ensure that the Maximum Working Pressures are safely handled after assembly and function test.
Lastly, equipment is coated in accordance with its service requirements. Coatings of the highest standard are applied to the equipment and in many aspects surpasses the specifications of coatings given from the original. Refurbished equipment’s life expectancy is expanded and any unseen corrosion that can progress and diminish the material properties is eliminated with a full strip back and recoating. To complement these technical capabilities, Soul energy has invested in infrastructure to ensure the highest degree of confidence and there is professional competence within its department of operation.
Pressure Testing
Soul energy pressure test facility has the capacity to perform hydrostatic pressure testing at pressures up to 35,000 PSIG on equipment and assemblies. Testing is carried out within a custom built reinforced steel test bay and viewed using a remote CCTV system. Technicians are in absolute control of the test and test equipment as they view from a safe distance.
Function testing and the verification of high volume pressure release valves (PRV’s) are also carried out.
Tests are recorded by means of a UKAS calibrated chart recorder with test procedures and documentation control accredited to ISO 9000/9001.
Offshore Recertification
Drilling Hose And Flowline Recertification Services
Soul Energy Limited undertake drilling hose recertification services. This comprises cementing hoses, parker black eagle, API 7K rotary drilling hoses, polyflex hoses, firesafe BOP control hoses, utility hoses, API 16C choke and kill hoses, bunkering hoses etc, and hydraulic service assemblies.
